Last Night In Seattle

October 19th, 2005 by Jek

Tonight we bade Mike and Alicia farewell at the Ballard Grill and Alehouse, the place where they met.  (I’ll leave that story for Mike to tell.)  We’ll miss them terribly and wish them well on their journey — to Philly, Peru, and back.  How exciting!  We look forward to hearing their stories.

Thanks! The road treated us well. The last few hours from Pittsburgh to Philly were rough. It rained the whole way and we even passed through some snow!

Alicia and Mike showed up for a visit.
We thought we were getting a few items to hold for them…
Two cats, a truck, and a 25 or 30 foot trailer loaded to the ceiling with boxes, tools, a 500 pound engine hoist, plastic container to drain oil(used and dirty with about a quart of old oil from Seattle), oh and a box of used rags from the garage. After viewing the valuable items that were brought from Seattle, we considered an addition to the house, but finally convinced Alicia and Mike that a rental space might be a better solution.
So we packed up the trailer and off to the rental garage. We left enough food and water so the cats should be o.k. till they get back.

  5. Aunt Mernie and Uncle Lankie Says:

Well Uncle Yimmie – you have plenty of room, and if all else fails, you can use it for your firewood. Leesha and Mike – have a great time – keep us informed of where you are at. I will zip down to Brazil in the first quarter of next year, and maybe I can stop by and see you, and I will have to find a customer. If you are ending up in Chile – I have friends there (and enemies too. Love Uncle Lankie ps Aunt Mernie is teaching a long term sub job until December, and then another one until end of March.

Alicia and Mike are on their way!
We left them at the Philadelphia airport at 5:30 Sunday night.
They fly to Miami and connect for an 11:30 p.m. flight to Lima.
An overnight flight that arrives at 5:00 a.m.

    So their adventure begins!
We are so proud of them, and happy for them!
