To be continued…

January 16th, 2006 by Alicia

We’re heading back to Seattle tomorrow. Mike’s father was in a car accident on Saturday and didn’t survive. He was on his way to do what he loved – snowshoeing. I remember a conversation that I had with him a few years ago about worry and death. He said that he didn’t really worry about death so much. He then said something to the effect of, šWhen snowshoing season is over, I pray ÂŽplease God let me make it for one more kayak seasonÂŽ. When kayak season is over, ÂŽplease God let me make for one more snowshoe season.Žš He loved God and had a very strong faith. Please keep Mike and his family in your prayers.

Mike, I take part in your sorrow. I never had the privilege to meet your dad, but only read what he wrote just a while ago on this web log.

Our deepest condolences for the loss of your father. You were doing such a wonderful thing down there volunteering your time and really taking advantage of life, that to be stricken by such a tragedy seems so unfair. Iâ??m sure your father had to have been incredibly proud of you and all youâ??ve achieved this past year. Your whole family is in our thoughts.

I am so sorry to hear about your father. Reading your brother’s comments and Alicia’s post, it sounds like he was a great man. I wish you, Alicia, and your family the best in dealing with this.
