Last Snow?
March 18th, 2007 by MikeWell my friend Manoj was supposed to come visit this weekend but his flight got canceled. Yes, we got another bit of winter wonderland, hopefully the last. It came down like freezing rain and even though I salted the driveway a bit it was still like ice in the morning. I had to borrow the neighbors metal shovel just to break through so I just did a lazy job on the driveway.
Even though Manoj couldn’t make it to help on the laundry project, I stuck to the plan and put in some good solid time on it. First, I moved the wiring and added an outlet. I also changed an outlet and box on the opposite side of this wall.

Next, I added two junction boxes in the little framed in closet that’s underneath part of the new laundry bath. One is for the dryer wiring, the other was just some random loose wiring, which Alicia helped me trace to the breaker controlling the outside flood lights?!

Lastly, I tried my hand at sweating copper pipes. It actually went pretty well – only two leaks, and one is from the new shut-off valve itself! I’m going to have to finish it up later because to work on the shut-off valve I have to drain the entire house plumbing, and that’s kinda a pain.
Aside from that, we spent about two hours between Home Depot and the tile store trying to pick the best tile/paint/counter top/cabinets and that was our weekend. Oh wait, we did go to a workshop on cloth diapering but the teacher never showed up! At least they gave us a $10 gift certificate just for showing up.
Speaking of baby stuff, here’s Alicia at 7 months. I’m amazed at how big her belly is and she’s not even that big, as you can see in the picture. We’ll see what happens in the next two months.

Ah, so does that mean Chloe and I will be the first to break in the guest bedroom?
Go Alicia Belly Go!

Hey Mike & Alicia! Thanks for sharing the pictures. All I can say about home improvement is, “I’m glad I have a parsonage committee.” One of the perks of my job!

Yeah, I could use a parsonage committee too! I was just looking at the coming weekends wondering if I can fit all the tasks in before the baby comes. I’m gonna have to start putting some night shifts!
