Jankers

Well, Nora is getting more exciting! A few people told us that at 3 months things would change. Now Nora is a little more predictable and a little more fun. She’s also gaining weight like crazy. We’re always getting comments on her cheeks. The other day at Costco I had Nora in the bjorn carrier. We passed the same sample lady a few times and she said, “Oh, here comes cheeks again!”

She’s sleeping through the night consistently. We usually get her to sleep around 10pm and then she wakes up around 8am. It’s wonderful. I’ve been working on a nighttime routine with her and now it’s sinking in. We used to have to rock her to sleep, which could take hours! Now I just do the routine and lay her down, even if she’s awake! I leave the room and, sure enough, she falls asleep! Allelujah! This might have something to do with the fact that after several weeks of trying she found her thumb.

Nora’s loving her little activity mat. She giggles when the music and lights go on. She hasn’t yet figured out that she triggers the music and lights by kicking the corner post. She’s also doing a lot of “talking” with us. She talks the most when she’s getting her diaper changed. It’s adorable!

I seem to be posting the cutest pictures where Nora’s really smiling. She’s mostly happy in the mornings, but generally smiles don’t come easily. Today the girls in the neighborhood took Nora for a walk. When they came back they said, “Nora doesn’t really smile much.” So here’s a pic with her most common expression. The cute, smiling girl is my cousin’s daughter.

Enough baby talk!

I’ve started back at work. I’m working part time in the evenings doing paper work at a local nursing home. So far it’s going well and I really enjoy it. The time goes really quickly. Mike also has some work news. He just accepted a new position with a company in Fort Washington (about a 5 minute commute). He’ll start there after Labor Day. We’ll miss him at home during the day!
