New Tricks

Nora can officially move from point A to point B with intent. I wouldn’t call it crawling, but it works. She pushes herself up on both arms and drops forwards. Up and down, up and down. She’s much happier.

Despite this new skill, Nora still prefers standing. We spend time every day standing on the couch looking out the front window in our living room.

Mike and I have a few new tricks of our own. Well, sort of. When we’re eating dinner and Nora gets cranky, we stand her up on the floor next to us. It always works to give us some extra time. She’s content just holding onto the chairs. This works at restaurants too. Another new trick is giving Nora Cheerios when I need a few more minutes in the kitchen. It’s her afternoon snack and my time to make dinner. I almost feel like I’m the one in control!

Here’s Nora enjoying some of her O’s.

And lastly, we had to lower Nora’s crib mattress. For the first time ever, Nora moved in her crib while she was sleeping. It’s hard to believe, but every morning when Nora woke up she was in the exact same position and same spot where we put her the night before. But on Saturday she was rolled onto her side up against the side of the crib. Things are starting to get exciting. I say that every other month, but I guess I mean that things are getting more exciting. My next project is baby proofing.
