What Happened in Mazama

April 13th, 2008 by Alicia

My second “girls’ getaway” was to Mazama, Washington with four girlfriends, Kirsten, Patty, Carrie, and Rena. It was a lot of travel time – flight to Seattle and then a five hour drive east and north. We were in a valley with snow covered mountains on either side. There was about 3 feet of packed snow on the ground around our cabin!

The highlights were two days and nights in comfortable clothes eating good food, drinking wine & Northwest microbrews, and just talking and laughing. We went for a walk. We played some board games. We spent one afternoon at the Sun Mountain Lodge for lunch and a spa treatment. I had an algae skin treatment. Pretty luxurious. The lowlight was getting pulled over for speeding on the way there. I won’t say who was driving, but it took a few miles before we even realized there was a cop behind us! We were so busy talking that none of us noticed him. Giddy old ladies!

After the trip, I gladly said goodbye to snow and hello to Spring. I’ll post some pictures of my daffodils and tulips next time!
