Ocean City with the Fam

August 6th, 2008 by Alicia

We got to spend a whole week in Ocean City, NJ with my family. (Well, Nora and I spent a whole week. Mike only had a half week, because he had to get back to work.) It’s been a really long time since we’ve had a vacation where we stayed in the same place with no real plans. So this trip was really relaxing. These are the decisions we faced each day… Go to the beach or not? Walk the boardwalk or not? Fudge or Saltwater Taffy? Pizza or French fries? Margarita or beer? It was really wonderful! (Thanks Mom and Dad!)

This is Mike getting Nora all excited about the waves. “Look out Nora, here it comes, here it comes! Whoa! Whoa!” She looks like she’s afraid, but really she was laughing and having a good time.

The surrey we rented one morning. I ran ahead to get the picture, then jumped back on. Pretty impressive, huh?

The boardwalk about two blocks from our house. This picture was taken right after my Mom was fooled by some kids under the boardwalk. They stuck a dollar through the boards and when she reached down to pick it up, they yanked it back! My Mom was really shocked. Then my Dad stuck an extra dollar down through the boards because he thought it was so funny. It really was!

Mike and Nora in their favorite spot on the porch. The picture doesn’t capture Mike’s beer, but it’s there on the table next to him.

Nora on her first carousel ride. The nose scrunching is a new thing she’s doing. Of course, I think it’s adorable!

The whole group in our matching T-shirts (Rogers’ Family Vacation 2008 – with all our names on the back). We had to do a lot of convincing to get my sister Kelly to put it on. First she agreed to wear it only in the house. Then we made her go out on the porch.

Now we’re home and back to normal life for a few weeks. I’ll try to find something exciting to write about. Nora’s climbing down stairs now. How about a picture of that?!
