Swingin’
August 18th, 2008 by MikeLately Nora has been showing some strong interests. Everytime we go outside, she almost immediately walks down the driveway, over to the neighbors, then starts heading towards their play area with a slide and swings. I feel bad because I let her get most of the way there but then snatch her up and go home if none of the neighbor kids are out. Well, this evening I finally put up the swing Aunt Dee gave us about a year ago! Maybe Now she’ll actually want to stay in our yard sometimes. Oops, the camera was to slow to take.
I put the swing pretty low to the ground so that if my installation is faulty she won’t fall very far.
She definitely liked it and was sad when it was time to quit and go to bed.
Last weekend Alicia and Nora came to one of my bike races. I thought I was going to do well but early on my seat slipped position and I had to stop to adjust it…twice. Arrggh. After that I just couldn’t get back into race mode. I was in 1st place when it happened and almost the entire field passed me while I was fiddling with my seat.
See, I was off to a great start!
Here’s Nora’s new thing, typically when she’s getting tired but this might be because watching a mountain bike race is so boring. Suck one thumb and play with your ear with the other hand. So funny!
One more mountain race of the season then it’s cyclocross time.
