Seattle Chills
September 4th, 2008 by MikeIt’s been a hectic past few weeks. A few days before our trip out west for my nephew’s wedding, our fridge died. The good news was this allowed Alicia to pick out her dream fridge and remove the wallpaper from behind the old one.
The bad news was we had to trim the cabinet above and wait forever to get it. The first one we ordered wouldn’t even fit through the doorway. After much deliberations, Alicia found this one and we were able to get it the next day. I guess we’ll spend the next few days filling it back up!
The Seattle trip began with a drive to Baltimore to stay with Alicia’s Aunt Carolyn who lives right near the Baltimore airport. We had a really nice time and she even chauffered us to and from the airport! Our long travel day started out at 5:30 east coast time and took us to Rick and Kylynn’s for Ross and Desirae’s wedding. Here is the happy couple exchanging vows.
After the wedding and reception, we drove to Grandma’s house on Bainbridge Island. We finally got Nora to sleep around 9pm Seattle time. Nora was a trooper this day but we could have done without the 6 hour flight.
The next morning, we enjoyed the relaxing island life. Nora really enjoyed Grandma’s big blue bucket!
Grandma took us to this really cool park on Bainbridge. There were tons of things to walk, crawl and swing on. Grandma even taught Nora how to play some music!
Of course a trip to Grandma’s isn’t complete without a walk down to the beach. Of all the interesting things there, Nora was most interested in picking these little berries from some shrubs! Mom did a good job of making sure Nora didn’t eat any.
Although it was chilly, when the sun was out it was warm and bright.
After just two days with Grandma, it was time to board the ferry and head to Seattle to stay with friends for a few days. Nora had a blast walking around the ferry.
That’s a good picture to end on. More to come on our Seattle Labor Day adventures!
