Easter Greetings
April 13th, 2009 by AliciaAnother holiday has come and gone. It seems like it was just Ash Wednesday! And the Lenten season is now over. We are enjoying Spring and watching our plants come up (or not). I’m sure I had a bunch of bulbs in one area of our garden and this year they’re nowhere to be seen! We’ve had some nice sun and time to spend outside with Nora. I noticed today that she can finally run. She’s been getting faster and faster, but this is the first time I’ve seen her really get air.
We got up early on Easter, because Mike had to help with the Easter breakfast at church. So I had to get up to take care of Nora. (On a normal day Mike let’s me sleep in while he gets Nora fed and dressed – what a nice guy!) After church we had my family over for dinner. The main entree was a flank steak rolled with gorgonzola and spinach, served with a creamy gorgonzola sauce. It was delicious – thanks Mari for the recipe! My parents brought dyed eggs and hid them around the yard. They made an egg for each of us and one for “baby J.” Nora and our neice Olivia had fun finding them. Then later on, Mike, my sister Kelly, and I went out to find the 3 missing eggs.
Our baby preparations continue. I guess I should say Nora preparations. She is officially in her new bedroom. We moved her things into the new room slowly over several weeks. When I finally asked her if she wanted to sleep in her new bed, she was pretty excited. She climbed right on the bed and said “goodnight”, then “lights out pease.” She didn’t want to get into her pajamas or read a story. It was pretty cute. She slept through the first night and we haven’t looked back. The nursery seems to be forgotten. We’ll see what happens when we start moving in the baby things.
The pregnancy continues to go as expected. We haven’t had any surprises and everything appears normal. Just a little more than 2 months to go. I’m getting more tired. And I get indentations in my legs every day from my socks. My belly is getting in the way when I try to tie my shoes. Thank goodness the weather’s warming up – time for flip flops and slip on shoes! Now that Easter’s over, we have Nora’s birthday, Mother’s Day, Memorial Day, then baby! It’s coming so soon!
Here’s a picture of Nora at her little “desk”. She colors here and eats her afternoon snacks here. And when her friends are over it’s where they play doctor. You can see all the doctor stuff in the picture. I don’t know how she gets any work done with that mess!
