Happy Independence Day!

Levi’s first Fourth of July

We went to Nora and Levi’s first parade today in Oreland. We met up with my friend Karin and her family. Nora brought her little poodle purse to collect candy that was thrown from the people in the parade. Karin helped her fill the poodle.

We’re having fun getting to know our newest family member. Things have slowed down a little, in that we’re not dealing with the jaundice anymore. We haven’t needed any more bilirubin level checks and Levi is looking less yellow everyday. He’s waking up more, especially at night! He goes for about 2 hours at a time and sometimes is tough to get back to sleep. I keep thinking that he’s already three weeks old, and it’ll just get better as time goes on. Mike is back to work, so I’m busy trying to figure out how to take care of two children. Nora’s been great with Levi and really patient with me. She’s been a little fussier and crying more easily, but is definitely better than I thought she’d be! Nora likes to hold Levi, but when she’s finished she just sort of pushes him away. So I have to be ready to catch him!

Here are Nora and Levi after Levi had his first bath. Boy, does he look yellow!

Here’s one last close up of Levi.

We hope you had a nice Fourth of July!

Precious pictures. Don’t know how you do it with all the things going on. We had a great 4th at Seaside, OR.

You guys keep me entertained. Here I am grinning at your pictures, chuckling and chortling to myself. Of course Nora and Levi are the most beautiful, perfect, and delightful-to-look-at children in the world!

I hope you will soon get enough rest. As I remember it, two to three months was when I started to feel ‘human’ again.

    Love,

    Mom Jancola
