I bought The Magic Numbers (http://www.themagicnumbers.net/) a week ago and I've played it every day since -- I'm hooked. It's got a California early 70's folk-pop sound, good songs and harmonies. It's two pairs of siblings and two fistfulls of fun.

Pernice Brothers' (http://www.pernicebrothers.com/av.php) Discover A Lovelier You is a solid effort from the boys. Joe Pernice is up to his usual depressed lyrics (think Aimee Mann) wrapped inside a shimmery guitar-laced dreamscape. You wouldn't believe how catchy the tune is with lyrics like There's a train wreck / pickin' up survivors from a plane crash / On the T.V. laughing it's a / sad status quotient waitin' for the sky to fall. Some beautiful guitar pop here. I also recommend the two previous Pernice Brothers albums.
Sufjan Stevens -- Illinois. I played him at the 27 July 2005 music night and this is my album of the summer so far. I can't get enough of it. Highly recommended. You can hear Sufjan Stevens Live on KEXP (http://www.kexp.org/aspnet_client/SpecialMediaGroup.aspx?rID=2653&pID=528&fID=1080) for free (once there, click the "Interview" link to hear the whole performance).
Ben Lee (http://www.ben-lee.com/main_page.php)'s Awake Is The New Sleep, is some mellow pop from Down Under. Mostly understated production that worms it's way into your head. Mr. Lee has a good ear for melody.
