Laura Nyro
It's not my typical style of music, but I found Laura Nyro intriguing and ordered the disc. It's really something how timely "Christmas in my soul" still is. There's something so genuine when she sings those lyrics... I'm always very moved by the end of that song, when she sings the words "Christmas in my soul," they truly seem to be coming from hers, and her final plea "Joy to this world" -- such a combination of heartbreak and hope.
